Activation Activities and Adaptive Process in Nursing Home

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out whether and in what way activation activities contribute to the adaptation of users 65+ to the stay in nursing home from the perspective of seniors and senior women. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts related to the issue were described. In the practical part, the research question "Which activation activities facilitate the adaptive process of users 65+ during their stay in nursing home?" was answered and the sub-question "What are the benefits of activation activities in nursing home for the adaptation of users 65+?".For the research, a qualitative research strategy and interview method with semi-structured interview technique was chosen. Data analysis was conducted using open coding method. The research file was selected using purposive sampling. The research population consisted of 2 male and 14 female seniors who met the predetermined selection criteria. Research has shown that activation activities for nursing home users have an impact on the adaptive process. In the opinion of the seniors, garden therapy and music therapy have the greatest influence on the adaptive process. These activities help to create mutual social contacts, influence the psychological state of the users, fill their free time and create a friendly atmosphere. The results of the research will be used as feedback for the facilities where the research was conducted in order to evaluate the quality of the service provided in order to improve the quality of the service.
The Importance of Activation Activities in Retirement Homes for the Elimination of Social Isolation of their Residents

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to describe the importance of activation activities in homes for the elderly and to find out how they are helpful to the elderly and how activation differentiated during the Covid-19 pandemic. The bachelor thesis deals with the process of aging and old age, the changes that accompany this period, adaptation to old age and the move to a home for the elderly. In the following chapters it describes the needs that help to secure the quality life of the elderly. The next part of this work describes social isolation, its causes and consequences, which result in feeling alone and lonely in some individuals. The last chapter of the bachelor thesis is devoted to activation activities in homes for the elderly. Here it describes the importance of the activation activities, their methods and the duties of the activation worker. The final part focuses on activation activities to prevent social isolation during the Covid pandemic - 19.
Basal Stimulation of Children with Multiple Disabilities

Currently, there is a wide range of employment options that can be used by people with mental disabilities. The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out what possibilities and limits the concept of Basal Stimulation offers. The theoretical part contains chapters dealing with the ontogenesis of childhood, combined disabilities, basal stimulation, Snoezelen and the concept of Basal Stimulation. The practical part of the thesis consists of the implementation of research. The research was carried out on the basis of a semi-structured interview with day hospital staff performing basal stimulation. The benefit of the bachelor's thesis is not only a description of the implementation of the concept of basal stimulation in children with combined disabilities, but also this work can serve as a feedback for the facility in which the research was conducted. According to the research results, the concept of basal stimulation by children with combined disabilities is very well accepted. The hospital staff sees an improvement in children with combined disabilities, which it relates to the implementation of this concept. Children relax and calm down, as well as become more aware of themselves, their bodies and the world around them. The concept of Basal Stimulation is not only beneficial for children with a combined disability, but also for staff. Many staff have learned to empathize more through the operation of this concept.
Artephiletics in a retirement home

The aim of the diploma thesis is to design and verify a set of activities for seniors using the methods of artephiletics. The main part of the work was to create activation exercises aimed on strengthening the self-confidence and self-awareness with the help of artistic expression. In the theoretical part, the terminological background from the field of gerontology, gerontopedagogy and artephiletics is clarified. This part is followed by closer characteristics of the specific social facilities, where the project was implemented and verified. The contents of the practical part are medallions of clients with whom the project was performed. The design of used exercises considers the individual psycho-motoric abilities of clients. This is followed by the realization itself with progress recording and self-evaluation with suggestions for changes and a partial evaluation of each activity. In the thesis conclusion an overall evaluation of the project and self- reflection is presented. The main object of the thesis was successfully fulfilled; the designed project was verified on two groups of seniors. Possibilities of education and activation of seniors in social facilities

The diploma thesis is focused on mapping the possibilities and availability of education and activation of seniors in social services of selected social facilities in the South Moravian Region. The thesis monitors the offer of educational and activation programmes for the elderly in the South Moravian Region, especially in the Hodonín and Kyjov districts, their implementation and positive or negative impact on the elderly. In the theoretical part, I focus on the topic of old age, a very topical issue of ageing, the definition of essential educational and activation programmes and their importance and benefits, the quality of the programmes offered and the education and activation of seniors in the context of the applied science discipline. I mention the participants in the programs, highlighting the need for expertise in the field and a brief breakdown of the programs. In the practical part, I will focus on the offer of activation activities and education of seniors in specific facilities in the South Moravian Region. The importance of social activities for the senior population

The final work deals with the importance of social activation activities for the elderly population. The work is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part maps the current state of affairs and describes basic concepts that deal with this issue. It introduces readers to the manifestations of aging, adaptation to a new life stage, and addresses myths that are anchored in today's society. It also focuses on seniors' leisure time, their opportunities and the specific distribution of activation activities. These activities are described in more detail in each chapter. The aim of the research investigation is to determine the importance of social activation activities for the elderly population. The practical part describes the basic activities offered by the House of Nursing in Susice, where a research investigation was conducted with respondents who regularly attend social activation activities for the elderly. The research took the form of a questionnaire survey involving a total of 75 senior citizens. This was followed by an evaluation of the completed questionnaires, which is commented on in more detail in the Discussion chapter.
Activation Activities in Nursing Homes

The Bachelor thesis is focused on the theme Activization activities in senior houses and deals with providing activization activities in the Senior House U lesíka Znojmo. The key objective of the Bachelor thesis was to research providing of activization: the form and type of activization activities, the process of activization activities, tools, the education of activization workers, the benefits of activization and SWOT analyse of activization activities) in the senior house. Partial objective was to research activities of a social worker in the context of providing activization activities. The Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. It consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains information on activization activities, a senior house and ageing. The practical part was written on the base of the main research question: How are the activization activities provided in the senior house?; and partial research questions. The practical part was processed by a qualitative research and by a specific questioning method. The used technique of a semi-structured interview was done by three social workers, four activization workers and five users of the senior house. Results of the research show that social workers are satisfied with the course of activation activities in Nursing Home. Activation workers are not satisfied some of the questioned persons are satisfied with the activization activities and some of them has comments to the actual providing of activization activities. Unsatisfied are activation workers and users with premises and aids used in activation activities. Suggestions for better providing of activization activities are included in the resume of the Bachelor thesis. The Bachelor thesis will be used as a feedback for the Centre of Social Services Znojmo - The Senior House, where the research was made with the written consent of its director. The research results will be used to improve providing of activization activities in mentioned facility.
Activization activities of disabled people in the day care centre in Borovany

The Bachelor thesis describes concepts such as social services, methods of social work, social inclusion, objectives and roles of activism. Furthermore, the description of activation activities as a tool of social work for integrating people with disabilities into society. The Aim of the Bachelor thesis was to identify the impact of activation activities on the integration process of people with disabilities. Vybrané aktivizační činnosti a terapie realizované v domovech pro seniory

Given the ageing of the population, it is desirable to develop a concept of a long-term residential care system for the elderly, the integral part of which is to provide activation. Activities and therapies implemented in a retirement home have an irreplaceable role not only in the complex care for seniors but also in the context of community based rehabilitation in old age. The aim of the thesis was to find out what activities and therapies are provided in the retirement homes. The objectives were to find out: 1. What types and forms of activities and therapies are provided in the retirement homes; 2. What terminology is used in connection with providing activation; 3. Whether a concept or model of care is used in the retirement homes; 4. Whether the retirement homes have been awarded the Quality Score in Social Services of the Association of Social Services Providers of the Czech Republic; 5. Who in the retirement home is responsible for coordinating activation; 6. The position and education level of the staff providing activation; 7. Whether there is a sufficient number of activation workers in the retirement homes; 8. Whether the retirement homes have sufficient funds for activation; 9. Whether the retirement homes have a methodology for providing activation; 10. The difficulties related to the provision of activation and therapies in the retirement homes from the point of view of the staff. The objectives set were achieved through a quantitative research strategy. The polling method with the help of a questionnaire of own construction were selected for date collection and the heads of the retirement homes and the staff providing activation were addressed. The mathematical and statistical method was used to evaluate the empirical material. The result of quantitative research based on the deductive method is the description and analysis of activities and therapies in the retirement homes in the Czech Republic. The research has shown a statistically significant dependence between the founder and the provision of a concept or the model of care in the retirement homes. A statistically significant correlation was found between the number of animal-assisted therapies provided in the retirement homes and the certification of facilities by the so-called Quality Score in Social Services. A statistically significant relationship between the seniority of the head of the retirement home and the availability of funding for activation has been demonstrated. There was a statistically significant dependency between the type of the founder and the provision of a concept or the model of care in the retirement homes. A statistically significant correlation between the seniority of the head of the retirement homes and the development of a methodology for providing activation has been demonstrated. The thesis provides a comprehensive view of the issue of activities and therapies implemented in the retirement homes in the Czech Republic. The acquired knowledge will be used as a basis for the preparation of materials and the concept of animal-assisted therapy in the area of care for seniors, on which the author of the thesis would like to participate in the following years in cooperation with non-profit organizations engaged in practicing animal-assisted therapy in the Czech Republic. The results of the thesis will be presented to the Association of Social Service Providers of the Czech Republic, as a professional organization associating providers of social services, in order to use the obtained results in the update and review of the activation documents. The results may be useful for the staff of the retirement homes in the development of the methodology of educational, training and activation activities in the context of community based rehabilitation. The results obtained will be passed on to the workers in social services and social workers through the author's publication and lecture activities as well as in the provision of supervision.
